15GRMS

Support

15GRMS is a brewing companion: guided recipes, a wall clock timer that survives a locked screen, and a journal that fills itself in.

Common questions

Does the timer keep running if I lock my phone?

Yes. Each step runs against the clock rather than a counter, so locking your phone or switching apps will not lose your place, and the brew is still correct when you come back.

Why did it not ask me about notifications?

Because a pour over does not need them. The short brews run one to four minutes with the screen held awake while you pour, so an alert would tell you something you are already looking at. Cold brew is different: it steeps for ten to twelve hours, so 15GRMS asks permission the first time you start one, and notifies you when it is ready. Once you have allowed it, shorter brews can alert you too if you put the phone down mid pour.

Can I change the dose or ratio for a recipe?

Open a recipe and tap Dial in. Adjust the dose, ratio or temperature and every pour target recalculates as you go. Your change is remembered for next time.

How do I stop a brew I have already started?

Tap the cross at the top left of the brewing screen, then choose End brew. Choosing Keep brewing instead tucks the timer into a bar above the tabs so it carries on while you use the rest of the app.

How do I delete a brew from my journal?

Swipe the row to the left and tap Delete. You can also open the brew and use Delete at the bottom of its detail screen.

What are the taste chips for?

After a brew you can tag how it tasted. If something was off, the app suggests one conservative adjustment, and if you save it, the tweak is applied the next time you brew that recipe.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Library, then the settings icon, then Export journal. That hands the whole journal to the share sheet as a JSON file, so you can save it to Files, mail it to yourself or AirDrop it. Nothing is locked in and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Does it work offline?

Entirely. Recipes and fonts are bundled in the app and it makes no network requests at all.
